The department serves three primary and two secondary functions within Logan County Government. Primary functions are Land Use Planning (consisting of Comprehensive or Long Range Planning and Current Planning), Zoning Enforcement, Flood Plain Administration and Building. Secondary functions are Economic Development and Coordination of Government activities between citizens, local, state and federal governments.
